Ford continues its charitable tradition by auctioning the inaugural 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction on January 27. This sports car, bathed in Blue Ember Metallic, boasts Recaro sports seats, accent stripes, and Handling and Appearance packages. Factory enhancements include MagneRide suspension, a K-brace Torsen rear differential, and Pirelli Trofeo RS tires on staggered wheels.
Powering this Mustang Dark Horse, VIN 001, is a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, delivering 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque through a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.

While the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse starts at $60,850, the auction’s first Dark Horse sale price is unspecified. Notably, the inaugural 2024 Mustang fetched $490,000 in the previous auction. Ford commits the entire sale proceeds to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), supporting efforts to prevent and treat type 1 diabetes.
